Our Sustainability and ESG Principles

  • To comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
  • To integrate sustainability considerations into all our business decisions.
  • To ensure that all staff are fully aware of our sustainability Policy and are committed to implementing and improving it.
  • To minimise the impact on sustainability of all office and transportation activities.
  • To make clients and suppliers aware of our sustainability Policy, and encourage them to adopt sound, sustainable management practices.
  • To review, annually report, and to continually strive to improve our sustainability performance.

Our Sustainability Criteria

In relation to our fit out work we look at the following sustainability criteria:

  • Materials
  • Water
  • Waste
  • Carbon in operation

We adopt the following measures for all fit-out work:

  • Timber procurement: Confirm that all timber products are legally and responsibly sourced in accordance with the UK Government’s Timber Procurement Policy.
  • Volatile organic compounds: Assess products such as paints, varnishes, coatings, adhesives, sealants and any composite wood products. Specify low-VOC alternatives when available and practical.
  • Water efficient sanitary equipment: Where sanitary fittings are being upgraded select, when appropriate, options such as dual and/or low flush WC’s, waterless urinals and low flow taps with automatic off.
  • Site waste management: Ensure that each fit-out has a waste management plan to identify key waste streams and additional options for reuse, recycling or other management. Above all, avoiding sending waste to landfill.
  • Energy efficient lighting: Minimise energy demand associated with artificial lighting requirements, particularly during daylight hours. Select energy efficient lighting options – for example, we will use LED fittings where appropriate.

Recommendations for Assessment Methodologies

When selecting materials for a fit out we will consider the environmental impacts throughout their whole life cycle including: manufacturing, construction, finishing, operation, demolition and disposal. In addition to the embodied impacts of the manufacture and supply chain it is also important that we consider issues such as maintenance requirements and replacement intervals during operation.

We can also provide recommendations that are of relevance where buildings are being assessed using an environmental assessment methodology such as BREEAM or SKA rating.

Helping Our Communities: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

There are many worthy causes and local-based clubs, teams and schools to sponsor and for us we have always carefully chosen based upon our value of enabling growth, development and the capacity as a business to give back to particular local groups whom can further develop a sense of belonging and in turn motivate others to join and support them on their journeys.

Here are some of the teams, clubs and schools we are proud to have sponsored :

Cranleigh FC

The ethos of Cranleigh FC is to; inspire a life-long love of football and a passion for teamwork, to improve players skills and knowledge of the game, to make the local community proud of the football club and its members as well as to provide a fun, inclusive, healthy, safe, social, and sustainable service to the community.

Circus Starr

"We believe in a world where anything is possible. We understand that attending mainstream events can be difficult for children with additional needs or families in difficult circumstances which is why we’ve created a tut-free zone; a show in which shouting out, dancing and jumping up and down are expected. At our circus, everyone is absolutely encouraged to let go of their worries, get involved, and be themselves."

Circus Starr are passionate about giving vulnerable children the chance to come together to experience a magical art form, and have some well-deserved fun at the circus inspired show.

Being a sponsor enables accessibility for everyone, which is why TB Fit Out chose to be one of the sponsors for the show as well as sponsoring a signer too.

Smallfield Football and Sports Club

Wanting to aspire and achieve together the club’s junior football team ethos is to offer a challenging but supportive environment where children can strive for more and learn from their mistakes without any undue pressure or anxiety within a safe and motivational environment.

Prior to Covid-19 there were no football teams at the club and with diligent determination and consistent hard work through championing fundraising, sponsorship, donations and volunteers the clubhouse has been refurbished to provide full sports TV and an operational bar in an inclusive space for all members and their communities to enjoy and support the club and their achievements.
